Dr Nicki On. BPharm(Hons), PhD, MRPharmS: Founder/Chairperson
|
Dr Nicki On is a fibroid suffer. She qualified as pharmacist from Aston University (Birmingham, UK) with a PhD from King's College London (University of London, UK).
Previously, she held position as a clinical pharmacologist specialised in clinical pharmacokinetics for GSK and Novartis Pharmaceuticals as well as clinical project manager for Pfizer (formally Parke-Davis Australia).
Her previous research areas include anti-viral (Valtrex), asthma (Foradil), COPD, migraine (Zomig) and cholesterol lowering (Lipitor) therapies.
In addition, she had practiced as a clinical pharmacist in NHS hospitals (Kings College Hospital London, Great Ormond Street) in UK, Ireland and Australia, private hospital (Harley St Clinic) and retail pharmacies.
She was previously working part-time as a clinical trials pharmacist for Queens Hospital R&D in Romford in 2012 while reading Health Economics at City University London. She briefly worked for Moorefields Eye Hospital before becoming a full-time carer for her Mum who suffered multiple strokes with severe disability since Nov 2015.

Dr Rajesh Varma. MA, PhD, MRCOG: Trustee, Editorial Member

Dr Varma was previously a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at GuyÂ’s and St.ThomasÂ’ Hospital, London, UK. His special interests included treating fibroids and heavy periods, myomectomy (Abdominal, Hysteroscopic), outpatient hysteroscopy and one-stop gynaecology. He was awarded a PhD from University of Birmingham on the subject "Treatment of menstrual disorders".
He had peer reviewed the medical content of the BFT website. He has supported Nicki throughout the development of this web resource. He shares our ambition to provide impartial unbiased information to all women and to raise awareness of this condition to government and medical research funding organisations.
Dr Varma is involved with the British Fibroid Trust in a voluntary capacity.

Dr Charles E Miller. MD, FACOG: Ambassador, Editorial Member

Dr Miller is a Clinical Associate Professor,
Department OB/GYN for the University of Chicago and the University of Illinois at Chicago as well as the Director of Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery at
Lutheran General Hospital (Park Ridge, IL USA).
Dr Miller graduated from Northwestern University and was matriculated at the Hospital of the
University of Pennsylvania, where he earned his fellowship in reproductive
endocrinology and infertility.
He is an internationally renowned expert in
the treatment of infertility and minimally invasive gynaecologic surgery.
Dr Miller is the Past President of the
AAGL, the worldÂ’s largest organisation dedicated to minimally invasive gynecologic surgery and he is also on the Editorial Advisory Board of JMIG (Journal of
Minimally Invasive Gynecology).
Recently, Dr Miller was elected Vice President of The International Society for Gynaecologic Endoscopy (ISGE) and will be President of the ISGE in 2011.
Dr Miller is currently on the Clinical Advisory Board of RESOLVE (The National Infertility Association) and is an ad hoc reviewer for JMIG as well Fertility and Sterility
and the British Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Dr Miller is involved with the British Fibroid Trust in a voluntary capacity.

Prof. Peng-Hui Wang. MD, PhD: Editorial Member

Prof. Wang is Prof and Chairman, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, National Yang-Ming University School of Medicine, Taipei, TAIWAN. He is also a Consultant Gynaecologist, Taipei Veterans General Hospital, Taipei, TAIWAN.
Prof. Wang graduated with a MD from the National Yang-Ming University School of Medicine, and a Ph.D. from Institute of Clinical Medicine, National Yang-Ming University School of Medicine. He previously held a Post-doctorial fellowship at Department of Pathology and Laboratory, Rochester University School of Medicine, NY, USA.
He is an associate editor for Journal of Cancer Molecules; on the editorial board of Taiwanese Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, European Journal of Gynecologic Oncology, Minimally Invasive Surgery; and a reviewer for Journal of Chinese Medical Association, Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology Research, Journal of Medical Science, European Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Reproductive Biology, Gynecological Oncology, Fertility and Sterility, International Urogynecologic Journal, Archives of Medical Research, Annals of Surgical Oncology, Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism, Indian Journal of Cancer, Acta Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica and Rare Tumors. Prof. Wang has 239 medical publications.
Prof. Wang is involved with the British Fibroid Trust in a voluntary capacity.

Dr Robert Kaikini. MA (Cambridge), BMBCh (Oxford), MRCP, FRCR : Editorial Member

Dr Robert Kaikini is a Consultant Interventional Radiologist at Kent and Canterbury Hospital. He was previously at Guy's & St Thomas' and St Mary's Hospital (London).
Dr. Kaikini is involved with the British Fibroid Trust as an UAE expert, in a voluntary capacity.
