2289.  K.C Lampeter I have PCOS and now just been diagnosed with a large fibroid in my womb causing heavy and prolonged periods. So I have a conflicting problem as PCOS usually presents with absent periods but the fibroids are causing too much blood loss. I bleed everyday or every month with no break, stemming from spotting/light to heavy clotting. I am currently very anaemic and because I cannot have a blood transfusion due to other complications so I am on a "slow go" iron tablets solution. Please can more funds be pumped into research for this condition. I have a daughter who is likely to also experience fibroids. They are painful, they really limit my activities due to blood loss and I just want my life back. I really do not want my daughter to have to live the same way as I currently do. Please help!

2286.  T.T London Fibroids are not a complicated health matter as other diseases of our age so we need to study it fully to prevent unneccessary suffering of women.
2285.  T Leicester Definitely need more research, information and action on this. My fibroids were discovered 3yrs ago and make my life a misery (so far this month I've bled heavily for 15 out of 22 days!!). I've eventually been refered to gynae but it's been a battle and I've still to convince them to do something about them in as non-invasive a manner as possible.
2284.  E London Better awareness and education on this common and oftentimes debilitation condition is long overdue! Sufferers have made \"mistakes\" with (bad) treatments others muddle through mostly living with the pain and discomfort. We desperately need research so that we can find the cause and eventually the cure!
